Users of the electronic cigarette initially liked the product because they felt they would be able to utilize it in public places that have been placing bans on regular tobacco products. However, many of them are finding that using them in public places is becoming increasingly difficult. So many people turn to their cars for privacy.

The problem is when such people are spotted by police, their behavior looks suspicious and police come to harass them. Because of these reasons some people are finding that using the electronic cigarette while in the car is much more uncomfortable than using the product in public.
It is not just the police that are giving users of the electronic cigarette a hard time when they are in their cars. It’s also onlookers, who cannot get a clear view of what a person is doing in their car. People spot someone using the electronic cigarette and it often looks as if they are using some form of an illegal narcotic.
Even though electronic cigarettes are becoming more widely known, there are still a lot of people who do not know what they are. This is especially the case when it comes to the police. So what has this caused? Users who wish to use the electronic cigarettes while they are in their cars have to be careful about their activity.
In some instances when other drivers spot them using the product they use their cell phones to alert the authorities. When they call the authorities on the phone they will give information such as license plate information, what direction the car is headed, and what they just witnessed.
The problem is onlookers and police cannot get a clear view of what is going on when someone is using the electronic cigarette in their car. The behavior ends up looking suspicious, especially for those who have tinted windows.
There are no easy solutions to this problem. Users of the electronic cigarette are already beginning to feel the same way as those who use regular cigarettes. In some instances they are being made to feel even more alienated.
There is very little that can be done until the product is main-stream enough to where everyone is aware of what it is. Even then there will continue to be instances where use of the product is mistaken for the use of something else.
