A seminar was held in Paris on 21st November 2008 for representatives from the National Coordinating Structures from the EU Member States. This seminar marked the end of the three-year European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) project which has been funded by the European Commission’s Asia-Link Programme and implemented by CampusFrance, DAAD, Nuffic and the British Council.
The aim of the seminar, initiated by the EHEF Consortium and supported by the Commission, was to present an initial evaluation of the series of EHEFs and discuss the outcomes of the events for participating European countries and institutions. Participants were invited to put forward their experiences, expectations and suggestions for future European promotion activities and to identify priority actions for enhancing the attractiveness of Europe as a place of study for international students from third countries. At the same time, participants also had the opportunity to learn about ongoing EC initiatives. Finally, the seminar looked at future developments and major trends in global mobility in higher education and how the challenges Europe is facing can be met.
